Fatloss In Maui, Day 1

Now for something completely different: Me doing video blogs from Maui, Hawaii.

This year Hanna and I decided to head to Maui with a group of 10 other friends. This is part business, part pleasure… well, all pleasure if you consider the digs and the environment, weather, food… yeah. It’s pleasure. : )

Here’s the first of many daily videos coming up on how I plan to lose body fat while on vacation… in Maui… for two weeks… and with 10 crazy friends. Quite the task, eh? Will my Every Other Day Diet Plan actually allow me to enjoy Maui to the fullest while still losing body fat? Let’s see… live. : )

Oh, fyi: I have spent the last 3 months out of the gym as I healed up a ruptured bicep tendon (ouch). This was a repetitive stress injury that I blame myself for, as I should have known that increasing weight on hammer curls as quickly as I was (from 30s for 10 to 65s for 8 in a matter of 8 weeks) was too hard on my tendons. Lesson learned. Since my legs are already very well-developed and grow quickly, and also partly due to the fact I was pretty bummed out over the injury, I took the entire time off.

I didn’t eat that great either. A move and a new company on top of this injury put me a bit off my game, at least for the first 2 months of dealing with it all. My body fat crept up to 12%; even higher prior to remembering to follow my own good advice! (ha) Doesn’t sound like much, but that’s double my normal body fat of 6%, give or take a percent.

NOTE: Each of these videos will be short and recorded on an iPhone, so they’re as scruffy as I intend to be for the next few weeks…

  2. Hey jon. I’m jealous. My husband was born in maui . I want to live in maui but I can’t afford it. Anyway sorry about your injury. Hope you’re on the road to recovery. Enjoy your stay in Maui with hannah . Just wanted you to know I started my 3 week program today. Aloha ckekoanui

    Aloha Jon and Hannah! Im really enjoying your video blogs and all of your products. Im on week 3 of EEOD and I have lost 8 pounds! You were the only one able to get me over my plateau. I have to say that M-power is incredible as well. I have been able to handle my food intake. EEOD is so easy to follow, but its the exercise…Im not lazy either. I work two jobs, single mom, teenager etc. Im not one to make excuses. I just need a strong at home program.
    Thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your hard work. You are a blessing. One more question…as a single woman, I would like to see what men find attractive. Im 42 and in search of a soul mate. Does Hannah have any pics, or do you have some pics of what a normal woman should look like to be visually attractive to men? I know there is a lot more to it…Im really not that shallow!

    I guess you and I have a lot in common. I used to live in Hawaii over 20 years ago before I came to live in UK so I know Hawaii is a lovely place to be. I am 47 years old and I used to be obese, up until 6 years ago. I had lost 15 kg over the period of 9 months and I have been size 4 ever since. Healthy eating and workout is very important part of my life. 3 months ago, I also suffered from the shoulder dislocation injury (due to over training) I was not able to train as much as I would like to. My body fat was 17% which was lean for me (female)
    Now I hate to say……It is so annoying that an injury always happens at the peak of your fitness. Anyway, I am back in the gym three times a week and I am intending to keep on going.
