Hey, hey!

As some of you know, I’m still on a whirlwind fitness tour… well, kinda. If you want to know whazup, read about it below… or just skip to my crappy in-a-hotel-room-quality video of me and John Romaniello talking about super uber fat-burning. Look below all my scribbling to check it out.

I wasn’t in my studio, so don’t laugh at the quality… or the fact I forgot to remove the Skype call window… yeah, I’m a pro, baby. The content rocks, though. Intermittent fasting is really the bomb when it comes to a starter diet plan, or a finisher diet strategy. I’ll be using it for the upcoming shoots (see below.) You should try it, too… and John tells you how to get started in the video below.

Last week, I shot down to Florida to hang with 50 or so pro fitness guys and gals, where we successfully combined hard training with a massive Super Bowl party (thanks Joel Marion… you’re a stud among studs)… and your everyday ole’ general mayhem. Now I’m in Austin, Texas, where I got to hit the weights yesterday with my pal Dave Goodin, aka “The Texas Shredder”, and spend some time seeing some old friends.

It’s just proof positive you can have a blast and still keep your bod. I’m weeks away from my next photo shoot (pics to be uploaded soon after), and a few months from my first national magazine cover (or so the little birdie keeps saying… ; ) When we finalize the deal, I’ll let you know. The mag will dish some secrets on my upcoming Fit Over 40 Heart-Shape Program, and I’ll be giving away 100 or so copies to readers who leave cool comments on my blog. (Oh-so-subtle hintskie.)

Before I head back home to Cali… da BU… and get ready for the Recording Academy’s MusiCares getting of Paul McCartney this Friday (can’t wait… such an honor to be invited, so thanks tossed out to Joe and Steve!), I wanted to share some luv.

First, I’d like to give you a gift or two. Below is a short video interview with my good friend John Romaniello. In the video below, we reveal the strategies behind Roman’s intermittent fasting strategy for fat burning. This really is a hot new way to shed more body fat through the clever manipulation of key fat-burning hormones such as the mysterious ghrelin, plus your body’s natural gH (the so-called youth hormone.)

Also: As John will announce in the video, anyone who picks up John’s new Fat Loss Forever Intermittent Fasting Guide today will receive an incredible free gift: John’s total workout guide… a $47 value, free for my readers only.

Click the button under the video now to get your copy of Fat Loss Forever today, then send John an email requesting your FREE copy of his workout guide.

Now, press play and enjoy our incredibly fancy video production…

P.S. Here’s my newsletter from yesterday on Intermittent Fasting, just in case you missed it…

Intermittent Fasting: The 8-Hour ‘Pig-Out’ Diet?

Today’s topic is controversial, but I feel it’s something you really need to know about if you’re still working on dropping those extra lb of bodyfat around your belly or thighs.

My good friend John Romaniello has been doing a lot of research (and testing on his A-List clients) in the new science of Intermittent Fasting. Intermittent fasting is a progressive new way of melting far more bodyfat that traditional dieting allows. The science behind it is similar to the science behind my own Every Other Day Diet. This is more extreme, for sure, but it’s also something that you should consider trying.

Here’s why:

Intermittent Fasting involves eating in cycles. You fast for a specific number of hours (and for almost an entire day after a big pig-out “eat what you want” day), and then you eat a lot of healthy food within a very specific time frame. The gist of the process involves eating 2-3 days per week on a “16/8″ schedule. For sixteen hours, you fast. Most people fast for at least eight yours a day during sleep, so this is basically just skipping your last meal and your first meal.

That sounds really counterintuitive, hence the controversy behind why it works so well. However, the truth of the matter is simple: First, you should avoid carbs in the morning if at all possible. This is something most people simply cannot or will not do, so NOT eating actually makes this easier. And, as you know, as lot of people skip breakfast due to the morning family rush hour. Now you can do it and feel GOOD about it!

You still get to eat dinner (John explains what to eat here), but you finish eating four hours prior to sleeping. It’s really not that hard to fast for sixteen hours when you break it down like this, right?

However, there’s more to it than 16/8. John has developed his own system for doing that I really love that prevents your body from shutting down. Any dietplan you try runs a high risk of shut-down — that dreaded feeling you get when the plan just stops working, no matter how diligent you are with it. I know, that is super frustrating. Well, John has solved that problem by utilizing 2-3 styles of intermittent fasting within the week, rather than just the 16/8. This shocks the body in a good way, boosts your natural fatburning hormones sky-high (as does fasting in general, by the way), and keeps you on track.

The system he has is so lifestyle friendly that he calls it Fat Loss Forever. Go here to read more about it:

>>>  Intermittent Fasting Explained

Intermittent fasting is a fantastic way to lower your stress levels and save your internal organs, too. When you eat all day long, your pancreas and liver takes a beating. Fasting for too long is not a good idea, as your blood sugar will drop too low. However, these short “burst-style” fasts are ideal for increasing digestion, as well as giving those vital fatburning organs (the pancreas and liver) a much needed rest. Most people are unaware that fatloss cannot happen when your organs are taxed, and this style of eating solves that problem nicely.

One more thing concerning the science and practicality of intermittent fasting you need to know concerns one hormone in particular. This hormone is the “youth” hormone: gH, or GrowthHormone. A very short workout after a fast boosts this fatburning superstar hormone through the ROOF, and does it naturally. The benefits include greater and faster fatburning, a more youthful vigor, and an increased sense of well-being.

You can see why I’m excited to share this information with you today! Intermittent fasting has so many benefits to anyone who wants to increase fatburning and simply feel better. It also scores an A+ in my book for healthy eating. Plus, you DO get to enjoy eating a LOT of food during those 8 hours, plus John insists that you take a full day off during the week and eat whatever you want.

This is the one area where John and I part ways. I do not believe in a full day of eating bad food. What I’d love to see you do when you try this program is this:

1. Follow John’s plan to the letter Monday-Saturday;

2. On Sunday, begin your free day with a high protein, zero carb breakfast. This will set your body up to use the “junk” food without feeling like crap afterward;

3. Plan TWO different meals out, and simply eat smaller portions of your favorite foods. Eat until you are full, but no more. Make sure you eat two meals so you get your fill;

4. Then, plan to go for a long walk at the end of the day, and snack on raw fruit or veggies after about 6-7PM.

Start your plan here:

>>> John’s Specific Intermittent Fasting Plan (28 lb in 28 days)

Do that, and this plan has my two thumbs-up!

P.P.S. Please, do not forget to follow John’s plan specifically on Monday, especially. Monday is VERY important, and you must follow it to the letter to see the results others are seeing.

Also, do not use this plan unless you need to drop extra bodyfat… because you WILL. If you are already at your ideal weight, this is not for you.

Want to meet the oldest living Type 1 Diabetic… with totally normal blood sugar?

Meet Dr. Richard Bernstein.

At almost 80 years old, Dr. Bernstein is living proof of the power of a low-carb diet when it comes to reversing disease!

Dr. Bernstein is almost 80 years old. He works out 3-4 days per week with resistance (weights) and intense cardio (short and sweet.) He has consumed a high fat, low carbohydrate diet since the early 1960′s to control both his blood sugar and his (former) heart disease.

Since that time, Dr. Bernstein has gone from yet another heart disease statistic (while consuming the ADA’s recommended low-fat diet nonsense) to the very picture of fitness and health. He’s not only lean and fit, he has the most ideal blood profile I’ve ever seen. His HDL (protective cholesterol carrier) is a whopping 128—anything over 45 is considered excellent! His small particle LDL is almost non-existent. His total LDL is about 50, and his triglycerides, a fat in the blood formed from carbohydrates and glucose, has gone from over 300 to under 50. And, his fasting and post-prandial (after meals) blood sugar is 80.

This interview covers his approach to nutrition, exercise, and the debunking of the “saturated fat causes heart disease” myth.

If you know anyone with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes, or if this disease runs in your family, or if you have heart disease (either yourself or in your gene pool), then this interview is a must-listen.

Enjoy!

I didn't have the courage to flex mine next to the Little Big Man!

This week I had the pleasure of meeting one of the most remarkable people I’ve ever had the good fortune to run across.

His name is Sean Stephenson. Sean has suffered more pain, more hardships, and more reasons to quit everything, including life itself, than most of us can imagine.

He suffers from a disease known as Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a rare brittle-bone condition. This left Sean confined to a wheelchair for life, having broken hundreds of bones as a result of the condition. Coughing once broke his ribs. Can you imagine?

And you think you have it tough. (Same goes for me.)

But that’s far from the end of the story.

No, Sean has built himself an empire. Sean worked under President Clinton. Sean is finishing his second Ph.D. (because one was just not good enough) from the University of Honolulu. Sean wrote the bestseller,
Get Off Your “But”, about how so many of use succumb to The “Buts” of Life. All over the world, Sean hears the excuses… “I’d get in shape, but I have three kids and work a lot and…” Or, “I’d pursue my dreams, but I have…” You name it, Sean has heard it.

He just never bought into that crap. Neither should we.

Oh… and (get this) Sean is a bodybuilder.

Re-read that last sentence. Then watch the video below. It gives me goosebumps to think of how much effort this man has to put forth just to muster up the courage to train—but through training, and an alkaline-heavy diet, he’s transformed his body and his condition.

He is amazingly strong now. His bones no longer shatter due to his increased strength and bone density through weight training. He even threw out the first pitch at a Major League baseball game, from the lying down and rolling position, and it popped the catcher’s glove!

Listen: Fitness and resistance training adds so much to my quality of life. It’s the best thing I’ve ever discovered to radically change just about every aspect of my well-being. But Sean is at an entirely different level, demonstrating powerfully how challenging resistance training kicks some serious ass.

Have a look, then visit Sean’s site if you want more inspiration at SeanStephenson.com.

Afterwards, hit the gym!

Ladies, this first edition of Weekend Weight Loss features two of my good friends in the fitness industry: The amazing lady to your left, Flavia Del Monte, and the equally fit Mr. Scott Tousignant from MetabolicMasterpiece.com.

Flavia is MORE than candid about her desires to show off a body that “proved I went to the gym”… AND she lays to ruin the myth that she was just “born that way.” Hardly.

Flavia also covers the essentials all women need to know in order to achieve their dream body. Yes, it’s hard work—and you expected that, right? But it’s also working SMART. Flavia’s System (see below) is the ultimate ‘Savvy Woman’ Workout in my opinion.

After you listen in, visit her website and see for yourself.

Here’s The Questions Scott Asks Flavia:

1) Most women would love to look as good as you did 18 months ago, what inspired you to take your physique to the next level?

2) You have had no problem telling women that it takes a lot of hard work to earn a flawless figure. What were some of the most challenging moments that you experienced? Were there ever temporary moments when you felt like it was just too hard and if so, how were you able to push forward?

3) Although it took a boat load of hard work to achieve your goal, was it an enjoyable process for you? What are some of the things that you enjoy most out of the transformation journey?

4) During your journey did you ever take the time to step back, check yourself out in the mirror, and make note of certain areas that you needed to improve upon? Example; shoulders, abs, butt? Were you able to be critical of your physique without beating yourself up over some of your flaws?

5) I’ve seen your face light up when you talked about your abs. I can tell that you are incredibly proud of your achievements. How has this transformation impacted your mindset? For example; Has it opened up doors to new possibilities? Has it made you realize that you are capable of achieving some pretty amazing goals? Has your confidence been boosted?

6) What was your biggest learning experience from your recent transformation?

Here’s the interview:

You are going to LOVE this: Today’s article is from the creator of “The Sexy Butt Makeover”… none other than Joey Atlas.

What a FORCE Joey is when it comes to shaping women’s bodies!

—————————————————————-

3 Tips For Your Best Butt EVER!
by Joey Atlas
The Sexy Butt Makeover Plan

—————————————————————-

WHEN YOUR BUTT is looking good, the rest of your body is looking good too. Find me someone with a great set of buns (with or without clothes) and I’ll bet money the rest of their body is in sweet shape too.

There’s a reason for this… When you make your backside the foundation of your fitness and body enhancement efforts – the rest of your body follows along. The glutes and all the muscles in and around that lower-body region are responsible for a lot (think: “center of gravity”)…

And when that whole zone gets proper stimulation – with ideal movements based on form, tempo and sequence factors – it becomes a catalyst for all the other muscles of the body that are directly or indirectly connected to that pelvic/core zone.

If you are looking for a variation in your approach or are still looking for a way to fine tune your buns and the rest of your body
- this should help you get there…

Here are your 3 “best butt & body” tips:

1. You MUST define what type of butt you have.

Before you can make the desired improvements with your ‘rear-end’ you MUST know what problem you are trying to fix.
Different women have different types of bodies and butts – and while various women can follow the same program – they will NEED certain variations in that program to cater to her specific butt/body type.

The Sexy Butt Makeover Plan <— The Plan in action

Example: A woman who wants to reduce the size of her large butt and slim down a bit will follow a different sequence and progression as compared to a woman who i underweight and very thin who wants to gain weight and sculpt some ‘curvyness’ into her body.

2. Your exercise choices should hold your butt as the “center of attention”.

When you focus on improving the condition of your “backside” and the hot-spots which surround it (think: hips, thighs, midriff/core, etc…) and the rest of your body gets “properly” trained in synergy with that targeted focal area – the results you experience are faster and more noticeable.

You can’t lie to yourself when seeing these dramatic changes while standing naked in front of the mirror. In this case – the positive proof isn’t in the proverbial pudding, it’s in the reflection starting right back at you.

3. The foods you eat and your other activities are powerful leverage points.

When your nutrition is in sync with your body enhancement goals – you basically make your efforts at least 10 times easier – many people will argue its even much more than that. I’m not talking about a “crazy-diet”… I’m referring to some very simple, do-able and common eating habits which most people forget or simply ignore…

And… adding the right type and amount of simple cardio exercise also gives you incredible leverage as you move closer and closer to your ideal butt and body. Remember though – the type and amount of cardio you do have to be in line with your type of butt & body – and the specific improvements you desire.

The Sexy Butt Makeover Plan <— women’s feedback

When you put the synergy in place which I’ve outline above – be ready for “the girls” to show their jealously and envy because most women don’t bother to unleash their best butts and bodies… And since you are – they will either want to know… “What have you been doing?” or…
If they are the “stuck in a rut type” they would much rather keep throwing money down the drain on quick fixes, gimmicks and “corrective surgeries” – most of which leaves all of them still unsatisfied, frustrated and angry…

But, since you’re reading this – I trust you are the type to take properly targeted and focused action to get real and undeniable changes, while everyone else keeps going around in circles with everything that doesn’t work.

What IS our fascination with BUTTS?

If you think about it (please don’t) the sexual attraction doesn’t make much sense. But yet, there it is.

Both men and women want to be considered in the conversation, “Who has the cutest butt?” You know… the one most all of our friends have at one point in their life?

Here’s a great place to start:

My good friend Joey Atlas, creator of The Sexy Butt Makeover, sat down with me virtually and did a 15-minute talk on… well…

Getting a better butt. : )

In a few minutes I’m going to share a story with you that stopped me in my tracks this morning.

I looked at my fiancé Hanna and just cried.

I STILL don’t know what to say about this woman. About her courage. About her faith in LIFE.

I’ll let you decide.

And in case you’re wondering, I’m NOT going to include a link to buy something.

I cannot use this for “marketing”…

BUT: I can and WILL use it to inspire the dickens out of YOU. To MOVE you to action.

More — after my rant about “testimonials”.

Look:

I don’t normally send out glowing testimonies from my readers in every email.

I should, I guess. I get literally hundreds, if not thousands each year.

More people would buy my books. More people would get leaner and probably healthier.

Perhaps I should… but I don’t.

I don’t even have a lot of testimonies on my product home pages. Most have NONE.

( Marketing 101: I fail. ; )

The reason: A lot of testimonials are just made- up by nasty marketers.

How easy is that, right?

“Susie Q lost over 10 BILLION POUNDS…”

That kind of stuff. Fake pictures.

Yuck.

Never done it. Never will.

If you see a testimony from me, it has passed the Big 3 Test:

1. Person sent it on their own free will.
2. Person responded to my request to use it.
3. Person gave realistic results.

So, yeah — thousands of them.

Here recently we just started using “Shopper Approved” on our delivery pages.

In less than a week, here’s a snapshot of our ratings as determined by real clients leaving real feedback:

My goal is 5 stars out of 5. It’s unrealistic, but we’re shooting for it anyway. We’re 4.4 out of 5 with almost 2,000 reviews in a week.

Here’s how hard that 5 star thing is:

—- > The Bible has 4 stars out of 5 on Amazon.com.

Wow… tough.

Something to note: I left in the 2 and 1-star reviews. Why not keep it real, right?

However, several 1-star reviews simply said, “Love the product, but never recommend any product to friends.”

Everyone else didn’t receive their download links, which is due to emails NOT being always realiable… or had another concern we can easily resolve.

That’s the product/testimonial/service update…

Rant over.

NOW:

Let me tell you about Cathryn.

Cathryn lost a bunch of weight using my book “The Every Other Day Diet.”

( No link… if you want to look it up, do so on your own. This story is about Cathryn. )

Cathryn then gained back 20-odd lb …

“Ah-HA!” you say… “The dietplan didn’t work over the long-haul…. they never do….”

Er… not really.

Cathryn gained back 20+ because of the drugs being pumped into her system.

Drugs required to kill the cancer that’s still living inside her body.

Today, Cathryn is “suffering” through chemo.

I say “suffering” because this gal could make a tsunami sound like nice surfing potential.

There’s optimism, and then there’s Cathryn.

Read for yourself:

“Making fruits and vegetables, with emphasis
on vegetables, and reasonable amounts of protein
the basis of one’s diet is clearly the way to go-esp.
as one gets older.”

“We all need fewer calories as we age. Relying
on vegetables and lean forms of protein for most
calories helps keep us thinner, our digestive systems
healthier and our energy levels more balanced.”

“Guess what? It’s all in EODD in a clear easy to
understand (and follow) format!”

That may sound like a “promo” I wrote, but it was actually Cathryn’s blog post.

She continued:

“I’m currently on drugs for post-breast cancer
treatment (2nd time). They make me very sick.
I was feeling sicker when following the diet the
oncologist recommended.”

“But then I started following the EODD plan and within
a week started feeling less sick, more energetic,
and more functional overall.”

At this point I had to interject my note of caution.

While I would COMPLETELY stand by the fact that EODD is superior to what most doctors would use for patients, as most docs know jack-crap about nutrition, this is ‘cancer’ we’re dealing with here.

And I’m not a doctor.

And I’m truly concerned for Cathryn.

So, I asked her to check with her doctor. I also
passed by some research for her to look into.
(She already had… should have known. : )

Here’s her response:

“Yup. Sure did, also Walter L. Voegtlin, and the
Kitava Study…

“With this diet, forcing myself to keep moving at
least a little bit (except on the days I get the IV
cocktail), and acupuncture, I’m managing. So
much is just what’s in one’s head.

“And, hey, it’s only temporary. All this will pass.
But not my diet changes. I only wanted to lose
the 20 lb gained when first on all the drugs, and
they are melting awaaaaaaay.

“I’m gonna live and live well!… “

WOW.

Just… freakin’ … WOW.

I’d love to sit here and tell you that I’d have the desire and courage to follow a healthy dietplan … dare I say even BURN bodyfat off… while I have an I.V. full of toxic chemo stuck in my arm.

I’d love to say that. I can’t.

I’m not that strong.

Cathryn is.

Listen: YOU NEED to hear that people like this not only exist, but exist all around us.

YOU may very well BE a person just like this.

Just like Cathryn.

If you’re like me… wondering if you could be that strong… then perhaps you’ll find renewed strength as I did from Cathryn’s story.

Maybe you have a story of your own.

If you do… or even if you do NOT… do this:

1. COMMENT BELOW.

Please, send Cathryn your best wishes. If you pray, let her know you’re praying for her.

2. Share your OWN story of success OR of pain. Struggling? Hey, I can relate. Doesn’t make you a bad person. It makes you human.

Share it if you want.

Or share something inspirational… something real.

If you ask me, this is more vital than any sale or any testimonial.

Cathryn, we’re pulling for you.

And something tells me you’re going to be living life no matter what it tosses your way.

Bravo, dear girl.

Jon Dana Benson

P.S. You may be asking yourself if I feel flattered that a reader is using one of my books to help her FEEL BETTER (not just drop bodyfat) during a time where most people would just curl up and shelter the storm.

Yes.

Yes I do.

More than that, however, I feel desperate.

There’s that word again: Desperation.

Desperate to do more than I do for people. Desperate to work harder on EODD to make it even better.

Desperate to communicate a message of hope that ALSO has a message of action.

The best kind of desperation you can have.

The kind that prompts you to be better.

Wish me luck.

P.P.S. Important author disclaimer: After reading everyone’s incredible words of encouragement, I feel compelled to add two important caveats to this discussion. I am in no way endorsing ANY alternative means of healing, medicine, cancer cures, or religious ideologies from a personal or professional stance. The reasons for this stance are (legally) obvious. My personal convictions are being set aside in some cases because this story deserves the voice of my READERS, not just myself. (Good…now my attorney is a happy camper. ; )

Thanks, and keep sending positive messages!

When I was in my final year of graduate school in Abilene, Texas (can you believe that?) my buddies and I had a very uncommon hobby.

We went to the zoo and hung out with the monkeys.

Monkeys. I love ‘em. They may me chuckle. They remind me of my 3rd grade English teacher… she was about as bright as your garden-variety chimp. (She told me, “You’ll never amount to nothing!” on a weekly basis. What a lovely example to set for kids, right?)

Yet our trips to the zoo were centered around… shall we say….

more sinister motives.

These particular monkeys enjoyed throwing things at the people who got a bit too close to the cage…

… as in, well, 100 feet?

When I say “things” I do mean ANYTHING. I’ll let your mind imagine that picture… yikes.

But it was fun, in a “kids will be kids” kind of way.

Plus it was inspiring.

I mean, this one kid (monkey kid) had an arm on him so solid we wanted to draft him for our ailing football team.

    “BLUE 24! BLUE 24! Banana cream pie…HUT!!”

Ah, I can hear it now… : )

Anyhoooo… that was all fun and games.

What I’m sharing with you today is NOT.

“Believe it or not, all this monkey business centers around Fat Albert.”

WAIT.

Fat Albert?

As in the old Cosby cartoon from way back in the 70s??

(Yeah, I’m dating myself… : )

Nah… not that Fat Albert.

The “fattest rhesus monkey on earth” Fat Albert.

They named him that for obvious reasons.

He… was…

     “Gravitationally impaired.”

How’s that for being politically correct?

Actually, he was just ONE FAT MONKEY.

See below:

"You gonna eat your fat?... "

In case you’re wondering, I didn’t doctor that image. That is the REAL Fat Albert monkey.

WOW.

Here’s why this sordid tale of college kids gone wild and dated cartoons applies to YOU:

Take a good look at Fat Albert.

Ask yourself: “How did he get so FAT?”

The answer, from his owner:

“He ate nothing but the American Heart Association recommended dietplan.”

Are you KIDDING ME??

THAT whale of a monkey at a low-fat, “healthy carb”, virtually meat-free dietplan?

And ended up like that?

Surely he was an oddity. The only one, right?

Wrong.

Seems The Southwest National Primate Research Center in San Antonio, Texas can make a monkey blubber up simply by doing one thing:

     “Adding carbs to their diet.”

They’ve tested various carbs. The worst offenders are sugars and high-fructose corn syrup.

That should come as no surprise at all.

But an entire segment of monkeys get fat when they consume a dietplan recommended by the AHA… an organization with VERY questionable motives in my humble opinion.

( If you’re reading this on my blog, comment below and let me know what you think of the American Heart Association and their connection to the pharmaceutical boys. )

The AHA, and other government-funded orgs that depend on moolah from special interest groups, are not “the bad guys.”

Not entirely.

They do good things.

They also give out dietary advice that will do ANYTHING but keep you heart healthy and lean.

So that’s the bad news.

The GOOD news is that you can eat these tasty carbs at specific times.

And on specific days.

Here’s an example:

MONDAY: Lower calories (less than normal)
Keep your carbs low; eat only green veggies and one piece of low-sugar fruit for your carbs. Forget starch even exits. Consume ample protein from grass-fed sources, including eggs. Drink a lot of water.

TUESDAY:
Repeat Monday if you really want to burn bodyfat…

WEDNESDAY: Higher calories (more than normal)
Start the day with a brisk walk. Eat the same thing for breakfast as you did on Mon/Tue. Enjoy a modest portion of whatever you want for lunch.

Eat an apple BEFORE you eat lunch. Then eat whatever you desire. That evening, enjoy your favorite “healthy” carbs like a yam, brown rice, or whole grain bread. Just do not fool yourself into thinking this is the “good food”… it’s second- best AT best. But it tastes good, so enjoy. End the day with resistance exercise like bands, weights or bodyweight exercises.

EVEN BETTER: You’ll burn-off a lot more bodyfat if you START your day with resistance exercise and cardio.

A LOT more fat…

REPEAT CYCLE.

Take Sunday off to either fast (if you want to burn a LOT more bodyfat) or eat casually (which works if you are okay with losing a bit more slowly.)

Simple, right?

Except for… that morning workout I mentioned.

The problem is: TIME.

Yet the BENEFIT is far more bodyfat burned and a more shapely body.

Resistance exercise is the key. It ‘trains’ your body to accept carbohydrates from any form more readily… and that includes sugars.

So you can have your cake and be yummy too. : )

Like I said:

The problem is: TIME.

Here’s the solution to that problem. It beats the crap out of P90X and other time-heavy workout programs…

It takes only 7-14 minutes to complete plus a 9-minute cardio workout… that’s it.

AND… it will be the most challenging workout if you want it to be. I do it. I’m a bodybuilder.

You do the math.

My 7 Minute Body in-home or in-the-gym workout plan: <--- fast workouts; more fatloss

Listen: You have to come to terms with the fact that you will NEVER eat like a Puritan.

(Excuse that sentence if you happen to be a Puritan. ; )

So, if you want to actually ENJOY your life and your food without eating “perfect” all the time, you absolutely MUST learn the tricks of the trade.

Tricks that tell your body to use those extra calories and sugars as muscle fuel rather than bodyfat.

Tricks that demand your body burn off the excess calories consumed BECAUSE you ate the RIGHT way…. the clever way… 24-48 hours prior.

That is the plan I covered above… granted, without much detail. It’s covered in more detail in my book “The Every Other Day Diet”…

But you have to get the workout in to make this monkey business turn into body magic.

And the best, most time-friendly workout is this:

My 7 Minute Body in-home or in-the-gym workout plan: <--- fast workouts; more fatloss

Enjoy, and watch out for falling bananas.

If you have ever wondered if you are having… or if you are going to have… a “midlife crisis”…

Stop.

New research appearing on the scene today kills the old nonsense about folks in midlife…

As you’ll see, it turns out that people who have entered “The Zone”… which is roughly 30-70 years of age (yes, 70!) are far from in a state of crisis any longer.

In fact, we are stronger, more self-assured, and even LEANER than our younger friends.

How ’bout that?

Listen: If you want to read my first book, authored in 2004, that was saying this stuff almost a decade ago… with PICTURES to proof it to your eyes… then go here:

www.jonbensonfitness.com/fof <--- the truth about midlife

Here's what researchers are saying:

"Middle-age adults are no longer driven, but now the drivers," say Bernice Neugarten and Nancy Datan in their paper "The Middle Years".

I LOVE that sentence! We're in the driver's seat of life folks… that is if you're over the age of 30 and under the age of 70.

As for that "under 70" part… well, folks like the late, great Jack LaLanne proved that people into their 80s and 90s can be driving Ferraris when it comes to piloting their own destiny.

There's more:

"There is no specific time in life that predisposes you to crisis," said Alexandra Freund, a life-span researcher at the University of Zurich in Switzerland.

"People are experts of themselves at this age."

Another provocative statement… so strong you can taste it!

"Experts of themselves."

Okay… so let's get past the rah-rah, look how cool we really are bit and move to some facts:

You MAY not feel like a self-expert…
You MAY not look like someone who is crisis-free…
You MAY not hear the good news for the noise…

The noise? A life that's TOO busy. Too "young" if you will. Too much on the go.

So much that, perhaps, you are letting yourself go just a bit… and… just maaaaybeee….

Blaming it on your age.

It's not your age. It's your commitments.

We only have so much time in the day, right? So a lot of folks who are super hard-working men and women find themselves out of shape and too damn tired to do much about it.

The SIN… the SIN here is to blame this on AGE.

It's not your age.

It's your commitments.

I repeated that on purpose. : )

Here's what I propose:

1. Re-examine your commitments; your time and how you are spending it. What can you alter or even let go of entirely so you can spend just 30 minutes a day taking care of YOU?

2. Who can you recruit? You need to pull your allies closer during this time. Push your enemies away… and do it ruthlessly. While you're nowhere near as 'old' as you may think you are, you are still battling that second hand on your watch…tick-tick-tick…

In short, you need some SOLID role models…folks who you can look to and get inspiration. That's what "Fit Over 40" is ALL about…

www.jonbensonfitness.com/fof (read more)

You also need a partner in crime. A friend or a spouse you can embark with on this new adventure.

3. Decide to make 1 SIMPLE CHANGE per day…or even per week… for the next 30 days. That’s it… do that and repeat this exerise until you have a personalized “Me System”…

Not just a cookie-cutter dietplan… never works.

You have to personalize, baby.

Make it your OWN.

Sure, I give you a great head start in my book, but you’ll need to take charge after reading it and committ bravely to one massive goal:

OWNING YOUR PROGRAM.

If you OWN it, you will DO IT.

Okay, one more thing:

“Researchers conducting large surveys have found that the main problem for middle-age people is feeling unable to get everything done.”

Direct quote from today’s news story.

LOOK: It’s a brave new world… a brave YOUNG world… where folks like me (I’m 47) look and feel 10, 15 even 20 years younger than their age.

Sure, it takes some work… everything does.

Yet, you now have the chance to turn back those tick-tocking second hands and look, feel, and move younger than you have in years.

It starts with your committment.

And hey: If there’s one thing we middle-age folks do better than anyone at any age…

… it’s committment.

The great news is that in 2011 you have so many more resources to make that committment easier time-wise, easier lifestyle-wise, and just a heck of a lot more fun.

Time’s a-wastin… : )

P.S. Did you like this article? Did it move you to desire some action? Some positive changes?

If so, would you be a sport and share it with others?

We’re in this thing together, you know… : )
